Classroom Stream & Notifications

The Google Classroom Stream can be very annoying and messy, it posts a new stream every time a Classwork item such as Materials is created. This can easily fill up the entire page leaving all the announcements buried below.

If you choose to, you can hide all the Steam posts of Classwork items from Google Classroom. Note that you might want to post an announcement with where to find the Classwork items.

Hiding Classwork Items in Stream

First, go to the class settings, it would be inside the class on the top right corner.

Then simply go to Classwork on the stream setting at the bottom and choose the notification types. The one we are looking for is Hide notifications. This will hide all the Classwork items in the stream and will not be sending out emails about them.

Once that is done, hit save on the top right and the settings will be applied.

Hiding Classwork, while it will make the Stream less messy, might confuse some families. It would be a good idea to post an announcement on where to find their Classwork items.
